Commitment Over Perfection: My First Digital Harvest Moon Circle

This past Saturday, I hosted my first-ever Digital Moon Circle, livestreamed on YouTube, gathering under an Aries Harvest Moon. From what I searched online, in addition to what I’ve learned over the years about Aries, is that it carries the energy of initiation, courage, and naming what's been avoided. The Circle was small, real, proof that the commitment to being one self is stronger than perfectionism when embrace the audacious perseverance of fiery embodiment.

The Debut: Small, Real, and Worth Celebrating

This was my first time doing a moon circle live online, and the first time really using YouTube Live specifically. New technology, new format, and honestly one of the first on-camera guided prayers and energy calibrations I've done in a long time.

I'll be transparent about the numbers because I think the transparency matters more than the size: an average of four to six people watching, five being the most consistent count I saw on screen. 11 RSVP’d, so the rule of halves did work out this time. It was a free offering, and no one purchased a paid mini-reading this time. As an entrepreneur with real goals and real expenses, that's not nothing to sit with, yet, this was a demo with its own value. A first test of a new platform provided a new way of showing up and more drive to continue refining.

The event had its hiccups. About ten minutes in, give or take, the iPad screen started dimming and fading to black, and the stream actually cut out while I was mid-guided-meditation with my eyes closed - which can happen when you're in a meditative state and time gets loose. I hadn't yet learned that I needed to tap the screen to keep it awake. I said as much on camera, in the moment: that the commitment to being myself, right now, is so much stronger than my perfectionism.

That's not just about progress, though the ambition in that is very Aries. It's the pure solar plexus energy - willpower, the I AM presence, the I AM statement and whatever follows it. That spark to be oneself so strong that stumbles stop being the story. What matters is the response: learning, adapting, doing what it takes to keep moving forward and embodying the chosen, fulfilled self. That's what I felt moving through the collective on the call, and what I felt embodying on camera.

Emperor Energy: Building the Empire of My Dreams

The Emperor showed up in the reading and represented the power of "if you build it, they will come," and to continuing to build it out. Showing up for the construction of your own empire - the empire of your dreams - even when it's only four or five people on a screen. Showing up for the foundation, the pillars, the infrastructure, and letting it be what it is and what it has been with less crippling judgment and more fiery ambition.

Because no matter what, you choose to show up or you don't. And if you've come back to something, even with breaks in consistency, even after periods of not showing up - you haven't actually given up. Only fully walking away forever is giving up. Everything else is just a season within a longer cycle, when viewed from the eagle-eye, zoomed-out perspective.

That's the reclaiming this moment represents: reclaiming my talents, my truths, my experience, my abilities, my wisdom, my tools and technology - synthesizing and alchemizing all of it together in genuinely synergistic, collaborative ways to bring my dreams into form. To keep moving forward while still absorbing the strikes, the blows, the scrapes along the way. That resilience is the Aries thread running through this whole moon.

The Libra Turn: Choosing Myself Without Losing Community

As Aries hands off into Libra season, the energy shifts toward relationship: what does self-assertion actually cost, and require, in communication with others? How do we honor our agreements and responsibilities to people while surrendering people-pleasing - the martyrdom, the self-sacrifice, the habit of quietly deprioritizing ourselves for someone else's comfort?

This season is an invitation into necessary, sometimes uncomfortable conversations, and into a mature truth: there can be space for multiple truths at once. We can agree on certain things as objectively true, and still recognize that people genuinely experience the same situation differently - it isn't always black and white.

If you lean on logic and rigid this-or-that thinking alone this season, you're welcome to - but it may work against you. Keeping your heart lighter than a feather means choosing compassion, and learning to hold accountability and justice without vengeance, spite, or a preference for punishment over something more restorative and transformative. Not because one approach is always right, but because Libra, surrendered to divine timing, can hold the gray area - the vibration of things not needing to resolve into a single, final point of stillness.

The invitation: choose yourself, while still practicing compassion and grace. Choose yourself while staying in community, in friendship, in joy - without becoming a workaholic. Your relationships and community may shift simply because you are changing. This is a season asking the self you're choosing to show up more consistently, more boldly, more radiantly, more visibly.

Reflect With Me

These questions came through the Harvest Moon, Emperor, and Libra-season energy above. Sit with them as a journal prompt, or pull a card - tarot or Oracle - for each one and let it answer alongside you. Together, they work as their own seven-card spread.

  1. Where am I already building something, even imperfectly?

  2. How would it feel to keep going without waiting to feel ready?

  3. What have I kept coming back to, even through breaks or setbacks

  4. What does that consistency say about what I haven't actually given up on?

  5. Where am I over-functioning for someone else's comfort at the cost of my own truth or energy?

  6. What conversation have I been avoiding because I'm afraid it won't be black-and-white?

  7. What would it look like to hold myself accountable with compassion instead of punishment this season?
